As an independent consultant, I lead and deliver global strategic transformation programs on Revenue Growth Management (pricing, promotions, price-pack-architecture, trade terms, mix & assortment), Commercial Excellence, Route-to-Market and Omnichannel and Sales Force Effectiveness. These transformations are not incremental, they aim to truly disrupt and cover Data & Tech (incl. Artificial Intelligence, GenAI, agentic AI), People and Organization, E2E Core Commercial Processes, Capability Building and Business Model Innovation. Working with senior (D+ to C-level) stakeholders across functions (Sales, Marketing, Insights, Data & Analytics, Tech and Finance) and expert project teams, I consult and lead these transformation programs end-to-end.
Majid Al Futtaim is a USD 20 billion Retail conglomerate, including Carrefour, where I was responsible for defining and realizing the group-wide Advanced Analytics vision, strategies & transformation roadmap deployment. ▪ Deployed new analytics operating model across Group and OpCo’s to instill a data driven culture throughout the Group businesses. ▪ Led the Analytics Strategy; PMO & Delivery; Business Intelligence & Insights teams. Working closely with Group Data Science and Data Engineering teams and BU tech and business stakeholders to deliver the Advanced Analytics project portfolio ▪ Established a new group-wide Advanced Insights Unit (AIU) holding function and define its operating model, while strengthening the project delivery function ▪ Act as thee the strategic architect of a new closed-loop data monetization business model
▪ Build a high-growth focused Sales and Category organization, by closing new partnerships, opening new channels and target groups and working with large CPG/FMCGs to build product-market fit analytics solutions ▪ Led and developed Analytics Products & Services (focused on Price, Promo, Share & Competitive Intelligence and Assortment Optimization & Portfolio Mix). Appointed agencies to develop advanced Sales Estimation algorithms, working closely with Tech (Data Engineering / Sourcing) and my own Commercial teams (Sales, Category, CS) ▪ Worked in partnership with company leadership and VCs to develop the Strategic Plan, incl. business growth and expansion plans, identifying strategic partnerships and lead team performance management & KPI setting
Location: New Jersey, USA / London, UK / Dubai, UAE ▪ Business: led the global Strategic Pricing and Commercial Route-to-Market Strategy & Operations programs for the multi-$bln J&J Consumer Goods portfolio with commercial and pricing strategy deployments covering 50+ countries, including establishing robust performance management and KPI tracking ▪ Systems Implementations: led E2E program development, governance set-up & holistic implementation of a trade promotion optimization (TPO/X) solution and implementation of a new commercial operating model ▪ Project & Program Management: managed globally remote, multi-disciplinary teams of cross-functional SMEs and Project Managers, reporting to Senior Regional and Global (C-suite) J&J stakeholders across EMEA, USA & SEA
▪ Developed and implemented KSA vision and sales strategies, driving record sales (+22%, ~$500mln), profit growth (+36%) and market share across the Modern, Pharmacy and Traditional Trade channels in Consumer Goods and OTC ▪ Transitioned entire organization through a high-impact business model transformation, from a pure Distributor model to a Joint Venture. Renegotiated new trade terms and contracts with top-16 customers representing +60% of sales ▪ Led a sales organization of 115+ salespeople and 200+ merchandisers through senior management teams; restructured into distinct vertical pillars aligned with commercial segments ▪ Achievement Award: awarded additional company shares (LTI) for change leadership and for driving record sales
Led design and set-up of a Joint Venture between J&J and a large KSA distributor. Largest J&J program within EMEA: ▪ Established new Legal Entity, working with senior (board-level) key stakeholders and JV partner, incl. part of leadership team leading the contract negotiations for Joint Venture establishment ▪ Led the design of an entirely new Go-to-Market for the new Joint Venture entity with senior internal stakeholders and external consultants. This included customer & channel segmentation, channel structure design, retail contract negotiations, Sales Force Effectiveness, pricing and portfolio changes, sales organization design & capability building ▪ Appointed Logistics Service Provider, established new warehouses and integrated artworks and product codes ▪ Oversaw SAP Implementation; Sales Force Automation / CRM tool and KPI setting and tracking
