  • Founder at The Shed
    Sep 2019 - Apr 2021 · 1 yr 8 mos

Created laser cutting maker space in Singapore. Created brand stickiness by establishing the customers needs and providing a solution to these needs. Key things from this startup: 1. Know who your customers will be before you go deep into the startup 2. Know what are their painpoints and needs 3. Invest in good quality products not the cheapest 4. Have good SOPs and principles so that whatever problems that come your way, you know how to handle it (or at least better). 5. Running a business is not easy. Sometimes you don't get to sleep. Many times you're the electrician, the technician, the painter, the manual labourer and many more roles. 6. Shit happens. Having a good mindset is half the battle won. Break down the problem into manageable size and solve it bit by bit.

  • Founder at PortaLockers
    May 2019 - Dec 2020 · 1 yr 8 mos

Created portable storage system to cater to ever-growing of outdoor storage. Hired and managed employees to design and conduct rapid prototyping. Key learning points in running your own startup: 1. My perception of a product-market fit is not necessarily what the market needs 2. Your product should be a painpoint/a need to your customer, rather than having it as a pain reliever/want. 3. It is ok to fail, just move on to the next venture and take your experience and knowledge with you. Know when to stop.
