As a Principal Consultant to PSI's Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspection service line Mr Sy has demonstrated thorough expertise, experience and technical competency. Within his current role, Mr. Sy provides technical review of proposals, reports and correspondence that contain data interpretations, engineering evaluations, opinions or recommendations for projects and clients in the Construction and Engineering fields requiring CMT services of PSI. He has provided subject matter expertise in the field of Special Inspection and is currently working with several Engineering Industry Firms and Professionals to assist in building the DFW Area knowledge and implementation of Special Inspections. As with his other positions held within PSI, Mr. Sy continues to be a key individual of PSI's DFW Area Team to provide continued operations support, guidance, quality and safety review, pricing and budgeting, business and client development, as well as various field inspections, observations and assessments when required. Through his years of experience, Mr. Sy has provided Construction Materials Testing Services and oversight of construction activities such as mass earthwork operations, both shallow and deep foundation installation, bearing capacity, soil sub-grade recommendations and evaluations, concrete materials and placement, aggregate, masonry, asphalt and concrete pavement evaluations and design, reinforcing steel, post-tensioned cast-in-placement concrete structures and prestressed concrete member fabrication and specific requirements such as limited pavement assessments, both destructive and non-destructive testing on post-constructed concrete structures, load bearing testing on soil sub-grade strata, limited forensic evaluations of concrete and soil related entities as well as other various studies and testing.
Mr. Sy currently serves as a Chief Engineer for the Construction Material Testing, Special Inspection and Engineering Consulting service line for PSI nationwide. As a Chief Engineer to PSI's Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspection service line Mr Sy has demonstrated thorough expertise, experience and technical competency. Within his current role, Mr. Sy provides technical and operating guidance for PSI’s CMT offices across the United States. He remains as a subject matter expert in the field of Special Inspection and is currently working with several Engineering Industry Firms and Professionals to assist in building the DFW Area knowledge and implementation of Special Inspections. As with his other positions held within PSI, Mr. Sy continues to be a key individual of PSI's DFW Area Team to provide continued operations support, guidance, quality and safety review, pricing and budgeting, business and client development, as well as various field inspections, observations and assessments when required.
Mr. Sy served a dual role as both Regional Engineer and Principal Consultant for the Construction Material Testing and Engineering Consulting service line for PSI in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area. Within this current role, Mr. Sy provided technical review of proposals, reports and correspondence that contain data interpretations, engineering evaluations, opinions or recommendations for projects and clients in the Construction and Engineering fields requiring CMT services of PSI. Mr. Sy served a dual role as both District Manager and Principal Consultant for the Construction Material Testing and Engineering Consulting service line for PSI in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area. He had direct management and oversight of up to 5 office, branch and special project PSI locations. His responsibilities included operations upper level management, engineering recommendations, quality and safety review, pricing and budgeting, business and client development,as well as various field inspections, observations and assessments when required. Successes during while serving this role included increased Top Line fee growth while adding valued margin increases, building business relationships in the market place, growing technical knowledge of industry field, securing major/impact projects for PSI DFW offices, expanding territory while also providing leadership in bringing the area offices together, under a consistent mode of operation and high quality of service.
Performed duties in the field which included diagnosing equipment failures and repairing/replacing required equipment. Duties also involved customer retail services which included analyzing water samples and providing recommendations to stabilize current water situations as well as providing customer service and satisfaction.
