I am an intellectual property lawyer with more than 35 years unique expertise in multi-jurisdictional patent litigation and technology transfer. I now offer that experience to organizations and companies who care for a sustainable and socially-oriented use of IPR's to improve our societies' quality of life. I have unique experience with cross border IP disputes in the Life Sciences, Chemical and Electronics sector and have negotiated and litigated several international technology transfer agreements. Most of all, despite working on an independent basis since 2019, I keep my passion for training and coaching young professionals to become successful and acquainted with the world of technology transfer and IP protection.
The "Impact Licensing Initiative" ("ILI") starts from the observation that there are many technologies still underused or not used while they could solve the global societal challenges of today and tomorrow. “Impact Licensing” is a strategic instrument that brings technologies into societal markets in a scalable and economic sustainable way. We wish to value the interests of technology owners not only via an economic return – calculated on terms that are not very different from traditional technology transfer agreements but that require sustainability - but also via a return expressed in “social impact”. The ILI-initiative ensures that the IP rights and reputation of technology owners remain preserved and rewarded, while at the same time it achieves their effective integration into existing social venture models to expand the scale and scope of their social value-creation.
