Acting Head of Section for Civil Engineering Section during the HoS extended leave. Supporting the Section operations
• Manage a team of 7 members • Manage projects within the Section • Prepared proposals for conventional reviews, as well as novel foundation technologies • Coordinate internally between disciplines leads to ensure scope, budget, deliverables, and time constraints • Review of design package for onshore, offshore wind, PV solar, and BESS energy foundations. • Lead and coordinate meetings with internal & external customers associated with foundation design review. • Perform root cause analyses of wind system structural failures. • Conduct liquefaction and site response analyses for wind and solar support structures, including collaboration with DNV's Jack-up team • Performing numerical modelling of wind foundations (including ground improvement), and developing scripts in Python to automate pre and post-processing of numerical models. • Collaborated with the other regions, in reviewing O&G and offshore wind projects.
- Specifications for geotechnical soil investigation - Geotechnical design of Monopiles for subsea turret systems, Pile clusters for subsea turret systems, Pile and Suction anchors for moorings. - Design of gravity bases (e.g. for risers and flowlines) - Design of grouted connections - Development of spreadsheets and apps, produced in Excel, Visual Basic, Mathcad and Matlab. - Review of Structural Analysis, both for buckling and fatigue. - Preparation of tender and project documentation, in accordance with the project specification and class societies (e.g. DNV, ISO, API). - Work with BD for bids, tenders and new developments - Follow-up of of fabrication of steel structures, including visits to site, meetings with contractor and site team. - Representative of NOV-APL during offshore installation. - Part of a Delivery team with members located in Norway and Singapore.
- Part-time collaboration with the research project, by programming scripts in Matlab for running automated analysis and post-processing of Finite Element Analysis in Itasca Flac 2D.
