Responsible for the FP&A/ business partnering for the corporate functions in LATAM, leading the regional team in securing timely and accurate FP&A activities while providing insightful business support, as well as enabling global standardization and deployment of new FP&A capabilities to advance process, technology and talent skills. Completed FP&A restructuring managing uncertainty, while significantly increasing internal satisfaction survey score. Engaged with global teams to improve adherence to global standards, optimized system’s interface, review process to increase SOX compliance, improve workload and embrace technologies changes.
As the finance leader for the North American cluster, my role included the management of a multidisciplinary finance team, as well as the IT and Legal functions, with operations in 5 countries. A significant portion of my time was invested in intensive Commercial Finance activities working closely with the Sales and Marketing leadership, but also dedicated to FP&A, Treasury, Accounting, Tax planning, as well as Compliance. Some of the key achievements include the leadership of business cases for approval of significant investments in the region, such as the construction of a new production plant and the implementation of SAP as the new ERP. Also implemented reorganized FP&A agenda following group standards and company's IPO, designed and implemented new profitability analysis reports, implemented new operating model for cash flow financing, among others.
Working in the Business Unit Finance of the MedTech division, I was leading the closing and compliance team in connecting business functions to the financial Shared Service Centers and Centers of Excellence (Accounting, Tax, Reporting, Treasury and FP&A). Responsible for ensuring proper business support, timely and accurate closing, financial statements reporting, as well as compliance to group and local requirements. We improved significantly the month end closing process, reducing overtime by ~70%, improved cash flow through reviewed/corrected accounting allocations and implemented initiatives to enhance compliance to internal controls.
Management of accounting, reporting and internal controls activities for the South American companies, including the following key responsibilities: Month-end closing in SAP, IFRS reporting, statutory financial statements, management of outsourced financial services, local requirements (SPED, IBGE, DIPJ, etc.), internal and external audit processes (preparation, lead and follow-up), SOX and SOD management, physical inventory counting, fixed assets management (intensive capital spending business), intensive business support related to all financial matters. Strong interface with business and other financial functions (tax, treasury and FP&A). Deeply involved with implementation of SAP and other softwares (Mastersaf and Softway), financial support for manufacturing facility construction, design and implementation of internal controls matrix, roll-out of group policies with developments in accordance with local requirements, etc.
