I have over seven years of data experience in the Special Education realm, I have also spent the last four years working specifically with CALPADS and Special Education staff at MCS as the Data Specialist for the SpEd department. While my educational background is in psychology and child development, I landed a data role with my last company. I quickly discovered I have a knack for auditing, training, and leading staff in data compliance and monitoring. Over the years, I have implemented procedural changes based on changes made to existing systems. I do not shy away from change but see change as an excellent opportunity to ensure processes and procedures are updated to run as efficiently as possible. In my previous position, I identified a need for a data team and hired and trained data staff. Eventually, I was promoted to a position created for me specifically to oversee data staff at five different sites across the Central Valley. I developed a tracking system for an IEP and Payroll/HR data system to identify users missing key session notes. Thus, I set timelines and procedures to ensure session notes were completed as quickly and efficiently as possible. In my previous and current positions, I identified and corrected errors within data systems. This is one of my favorite parts about data work. I see errors as puzzles that need to be solved, and I am reinforced every time I can identify and correct an issue. I have four years of experience with CALPADS reporting periods and have been solely responsible for any Special Education errors that need to be resolved to certify data for the State. I am calm under pressure and know how to use the resources at my disposal and identify new resources to complete time-sensitive and complex tasks. I am very passionate about sharing what I know with other people, which naturally requires excellent communication skills. At my pervious position I was not only responsible for training data staff from the ground up upon hiring, but also for training all system users in Central Reach and Paycom. In my current position I train staff individually almost daily in using our IEP system, and I also host monthly at-will trainings for additional support within the system. I do not shy away from speaking to crowds, and just this year, I have requested to be added to other mass training for SRC/Data Entry personnel at the sites to ensure my department department is working closely with sites to help ensure processes are running as smoothly and quickly as possible.
