2023 Alberta Film and Television Award winner for ‘Best Short Form Documentary Director’, Brock Davis Mitchell founded his love for story telling through documentary film making and narrative based music videos. Growing up as a skateboarder in the foothills of Alberta, Brock’s kickflip would be evidence that he didn’t have aspirations of being a professional, but it more so fostered his interest in visual story telling through contributing to the community and culture he cared so much about. Brock's music video work has garnered numerous accolades including a 2020 Western Canada Music Awards nomination for 'Video Director of the Year', to his more recent win for 'Best Music Video' at the 2024 Alberta Film and Television awards. With his documentary work screening across the country, receiving 'Audience Choice' awards from both the 2022 Calgary International Film Festival and Calgary Underground Film Festivals. With experience in all levels of production, from branded content through to feature films, Brock has found recent fulfillment in teaching and mentorship. Brock hopes to be a resource for the next generation of storytellers to find their passion, and empower them to celebrate the people in their lives.
