Appointed by the Board of Trustees of United States International University–Africa to serve as a member of the University Council. The institution's highest governing body, responsible for shaping the strategic, academic, and operational direction of one of East Africa's leading international universities. In this role, I contribute governance expertise and a practitioner's perspective to a body tasked with ensuring institutional excellence, accountability, and long-term sustainability. My appointment reflects a growing recognition of the intersection between technology, cybersecurity, and the future of higher education governance in Africa. Key responsibilities include: 1. Safeguarding the quality, integrity, and reputation of the university 2. Reviewing and approving institutional policies, academic programs, and the university's annual budget 3. Overseeing the appointment and terms of service of the Vice Chancellor and senior leadership 4. Ensuring that degree programs meet national and international quality benchmarks 5. Selecting external audit firms and reviewing annual fiscal audits to ensure financial accountability 6. Approving faculty recommendations for full professorship 7. Serving as the final appeal body for senior management decisions 8. Approving university statutes for publication in the Kenya Gazette
