I have taught for many years in Hawke's Bay and have been in leadership roles for eight years. This has been a fulfilling journey from literacy leader, SENCo, leadership and now learning support. I believe that is people not necessarily programs that determine the quality of the educational and emotional outcomes for children, particularly those with high learning needs. At the heart of every exceptional school are quality relationships. I focus on building and maintaining respectful, learning-focused relationships. and believe that learning extends into the wider community. Understanding what the local community values is pivotal to the success of schools and their pupils.
