Working on a small team to head-up our West Coast Vegetable program, we work together to coordinate the purchasing and logistics for orders on behalf of our customers. Responsibilities include cubing trucks, submitting weekly orders, ensuring trucks have proper pick-up information, covering product when short and confirming pricing for customers. I also handle all over/short issues, cross dock issues and logistical issues. Our small team works efficiently and tirelessly to make sure our customers are getting their West Coast product!

At Willowood Farm of Ebey's Prairie I was granted the role of intern/farmhand. I performed physical labor with a group or 3-4 other farmers, harvesting, seeding, weeding and irrigating. Thanks to my fantastic managers, I had the opportunity to learn how to construct and install drip and sprinkler irrigation, as well as how to calculate irrigation properly for a dry summer area such as the Pacific Northwest. Georgie afforded me the immersive experience of living on the farm and this allowed me to fully enjoy the fruits of my labor. I learned how to cook, process and store various new crops that I had never worked with. I learned different weeding methods, pest control management techniques and proper harvesting procedure. This experience lead me to a fuller understanding and appreciation for where our food comes from.
At JJ DeLong and Associates I worked with a team specializing in temp-to-hire opportunities for those in the job market. I effectively communicated with the secretary to ensure files were placed in proper cabinets, keeping all paperwork in order. I learned how to utilize Bullhorn Staffing Software, assisting the team in bringing their records up-to-date in terms of new hires, fall offs and new recruits. Via JJ DeLong and Associates I worked for Karl Helfrich, CPA, LLC. This position was a learning experience in terms of cross-checking work, as I performed a significant amount of data entry. Working with and learning from Karl, Jan and Jean was a true pleasure and allowed me to gain invaluable administrative and office skills. On behalf of Mr. Helfrich I processed tax packets, collected tax documents for clients and prepared tax forms to be mailed out. I utilized Intuit software to process taxes for clients and learned OASYS software for data entry. I thank the team at Karl Helfrich, CPA for teaching me the ropes; it was truly a pleasure to be a part of their team for a short time!
