About

Helping people understand what their body is communicating. Our body is an intelligent ecosystem, constantly receiving, responding, adapting, and communicating. Everything is information, from the food we eat and the water we drink to the relationships we nurture, the environments we immerse ourselves in, and the stories we tell ourselves. Our body grows what it is given. This understanding shapes everything I do. I am a Workplace Wellbeing Educator, Speaker, Herbalist, Rongoā Practitioner, Naturopath, Nutritionist, Intrinsic Health Coach, and founder of The Remembering, Mārama Kai, and Vital Force Wellness Consultants. For over 30 years, I have worked within natural health, regenerative wellbeing, education, nervous system restoration, gut health, and holistic wellbeing, weaving together clinical education, ancestral knowledge, lived experience, and embodied practice. Whether I am supporting someone through a one on one hauora journey, educating pharmacy teams across Aotearoa, delivering workplace wellbeing programmes, speaking at conferences, or guiding community experiences, my purpose remains the same: to help people reconnect with the foundations of health and become the true kaitiaki of their own ecosystem. For over a decade, I have had the privilege of serving as National Educator for Vitaco, home to some of Australia and New Zealand’s most trusted supplement and natural health brands, translating complex health science into practical, engaging education for pharmacy teams and health professionals throughout Aotearoa. My journey has also been deeply lived. I have travelled through 51 countries and built multiple businesses, including a natural health and herbal dispensary in Auckland, alongside a conscious food company producing organic raw products distributed nationwide. I am also the founder of The Remembering, an evolving movement grounded in one simple truth: wellbeing is not something we purchase. It is something we cultivate. When we change the information our body receives, our body changes what it grows. Because we are not separate from nature. We are nature.

Rooted in Nature. Driven by Truth. Walking with Purpose. With over 30 years of experience in the natural health industry, I’ve walked the path from clinic to conference, from soil to soul, and from struggle to sovereignty. I am a Naturopath, Medical Herbalist, Nutritionist, Rongoā Advocate, and certified JOIH Coach through Dr. Zach Bush MD’s Journey of Intrinsic Health. My work sits at the intersection of science, nature, and lived wisdom. I’ve travelled to over 51 countries, raised a daughter as a solo mama, and built several wellness businesses from the ground up — including The Health Lounge, a multi-disciplinary health store and dispensary in Onehunga. I also founded a conscious kai company offering organic bliss balls and coconut oil popcorn to the NZ market, and helped introduce high-integrity health products into the country with proven success. For over nine years, I’ve held a national contract as Training Manager with New Zealand’s largest supplement company, educating pharmacy and health store teams across the motu. I’ve facilitated in-store trainings, national events, and supported their journey to becoming the top-rated brand in coalface retail surveys. Alongside this, I’ve spoken at national conferences, delivered corporate wellbeing programs, and run workshops on gut health, detoxification, stress, sleep, plant medicine, mental clarity, mindfulness, and cellular vitality. I hold a wealth of knowledge on vitamins, minerals, and therapeutic nutrients and am known for translating complex science into accessible, inspiring education. Today, I bring this all together through The Remembering — a living, evolving platform for community, connection, and reconnection to the intelligence of nature. I don’t believe in outsourcing healing. I believe in remembering who you are — and living wildly, abundantly, and free. If you’re seeking a speaker, educator, collaborator, or community health activator... I’d love to connect.

At Mārama Kai, our mission is clear: to reconnect you with the wisdom of your body and the deep interconnectedness we share with nature. True wellbeing begins when we remember that we are not separate from the taiao — we are nature. Drawing on decades of experience as a naturopath, medical herbalist, nutritionist, Rongoā practitioner, and certified Journey of Intrinsic Health Coach, I’ve witnessed the growing need for education that restores intrinsic wellbeing. Many have become disconnected from one of our oldest relationships — our whakapapa to Hineahuone, the first woman formed from the sacred elements of Papatūānuku: soil, clay, bacteria, mycelium, the virome, and all living organisms. Mārama Kai is committed to rekindling reverence for Papatūānuku and recognising the incredible potential of our oneone (soil) to provide the energy and nutrients essential for thriving life. We offer exceptional holistic health education, workshops, and community talks rooted in mātauranga Māori and guided by nature’s intelligence. Speaking Engagements I also offer talks and workshops for conferences, workplaces, and wellness events. As a passionate educator deeply attuned to both the seen and unseen realms, I bring a unique, grounded, and fresh perspective on wellbeing. Let’s explore what’s possible for your audience or organisation. I invite you to walk this transformative journey with Mārama Kai — a journey of remembering, reconnection, and restoring harmony through nature and intrinsic wisdom. Together, let’s return to a more vibrant, conscious, and regenerative way of living.

  • National Training Manager at Vitaco Health Group
    Jul 2016 - Present · 10 yrs 1 mo

National Training Manager (Contract) Vitaco Health Group | New Zealand July 2016 – Present As the contracted National Training Manager for Vitaco, New Zealand’s largest supplement company, I deliver in-field education and training across pharmacies and health stores nationwide. While the core material is created by the internal team, I’m responsible for engaging retail teams, bringing the training to life, and helping translate product knowledge into confident sales outcomes. When I began, there was no structured education program in place. Over the years, I’ve helped take Vitaco’s retail training presence from nonexistent to being rated number one in coalface surveys — driven by consistent delivery, meaningful relationships, and on-the-ground expertise. Key responsibilities and highlights include: Facilitating in-store, online, and evening training events with sampling, catering, and engagement tools Delivering education to both banner groups and independent pharmacies, tailoring each session to store needs Speaking at conferences, expos, and training days for national pharmacy groups and retailers Supporting new product launches with practical, store-level education and in-field sales support Translating scientific and marketing-led presentations into relevant, digestible education for busy staff Acting as a key liaison between the trade and internal teams, bringing valuable feedback back to the business This role brings together my passion for people, deep knowledge of natural health, and decades of experience in clinical practice, product education, and community wellbeing — all delivered where it counts most: face to face, in real time.

  • I Am Vital, Organic Vegan Kai at Vital Force Wellness Consultants
    Feb 2012 - Jun 2016 · 4 yrs 5 mos

I founded I am Vital, an organic, ethical, and vegan kai brand rooted in simplicity, innovation, and integrity. The idea was sparked after a Southern Cross Hospital workshop, where I offered samples of my handmade organic bliss balls. Made with nuts, seeds, and prunes (not dates, which were already overdone), they struck a chord — and from that moment, the brand was born. I developed a range of nutrient-dense, unprocessed snack foods grounded in ancestral principles and modern nutritional science. Alongside my daughter, I hand-crafted and distributed organic bliss balls and co-created an entirely natural, organic popcorn brand with a beloved business partner, who has since passed on. Together, we ensured every ingredient honoured our bodies and the earth. This labour-intensive venture brought powerful lessons in conscious business, ethical sourcing, and sustainable food production. Without the financial support to scale further, I chose to sell the business for a profit. I am Vital still trades today — a legacy of wholesome, vibrant food and values-led entrepreneurship.

  • Creator/Co-Owner at The Health Lounge
    Feb 2006 - Nov 2008 · 2 yrs 10 mos

I founded and built The Health Lounge, a boutique wellness destination in Onehunga offering a unique fusion of natural health services and retail. The space combined a fully stocked herbal dispensary, a beauty and body therapy clinic, and a curated selection of practitioner-grade supplements and wellness products. From vision to operation, I oversaw all aspects of the business — from fit-out and branding to staffing, product sourcing, and client care. The Health Lounge was designed as a space for education, empowerment, and holistic healing, integrating naturopathic, nutritional, and aesthetic therapies under one roof. Highlights included: Establishing a fully functioning herbal dispensary alongside retail and treatment services Providing personalised naturopathic consults and bespoke herbal formulations Delivering natural skin and body therapies as a qualified aesthetician Managing a growing client base and supporting community wellness through in-store events and education Building the business from a concrete shell through to a respected wellness hub Successfully selling the business after four years of operation This experience sharpened my skills in business development, holistic service delivery, and conscious leadership — and laid the foundation for many of the community-based wellbeing initiatives I continue to lead today.
