Brian Owens is a uniquely skilled executive with 20 years of experience building and revitalizing iconic global brands. His career includes key assignments in strategy, marketing, and innovation at Nestle, the world's largest food company, at FOX, the #1 television network for young adults, and at eBay Inc., a global leader in commerce, technology, shopping, and payments. Brian is currently the President of Red Bull Media House North America, and the EVP, Chief Marketing Officer for Red Bull North America. Red Bull is one of the world's most innovative lifestyle brands, and is known for inventing the energy drink category and pioneering a unique blend of sports, culture, content, influencer, and event marketing. Before joining the Red Bull team, Brian led brand strategy for eBay Inc.’s global portfolio of brands, and guided the development of new products, marketing, and communications. eBay Inc.'s brands included Stub Hub, PayPal, eBay Enterprise, and eBay. At FOX Brian developed the brand ecosystems, viewer targets, and marketing strategies for the FOX Network and for FOX's prime time programs. FOX's brand portfolio included pop culture powerhouses like 24, Glee, The Simpsons, Family Guy, House, and American Idol. At Nestle his scope included brand management, product innovation, marketing, and promotion for brands including Disney, Wonka, Nestle Crunch, and Butterfinger. He developed major initiatives with the NBA, Disney, and Warner Bros, including the blockbuster film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, one of the most successful entertainment partnerships of all time. Brian has collaborated with Hollywood’s top producers and talent, and he has deep experience in storytelling through advertising, original content, television programming, and film. He is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the founder of The Consiglio Group. His work has won numerous awards and he was recognized by AdAge as one of the top 100 Marketers in the U.S.

As the President of Red Bull Media House North America Brian drove the company’s evolution from a prolific creator of unique but narrowly focused action sports content, to a full fledged studio and distributor with unrivaled access to extraordinary creative talent, events, and stories. In his role, Brian oversaw development and production for all social and short form content, as well as feature films, sports and music documentaries, scripted and unscripted TV, and live sports and music festivals. Brian championed the studio’s entry into E-Sports, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, location based entertainment, and other new and emerging media. Given his prior experience in technology at eBay Inc., he was also able to catalyze significant advancements on Red Bull’s OTT platform, Red Bull TV. In addition to updates to Red Bull’s iconic TV campaigns and a steady stream of stunning original content, he and his team of marketers, producers, artists, musicians, athletes, and partners created hundreds of new “beyond the ordinary” events and experiences each year designed to amaze and inspire consumers around the world.
Brian is the former EVP and Chief Marketing Officer of Red Bull North America. Red Bull is widely recognized as the world’s most aspirational lifestyle brand. Brian was the first external executive to join and lead Red Bull’s marketing team, and was appointed to the additional role of President of Red Bull Media House four months after joining the company. Brian led all consumer facing activities for Red Bull Energy Drink and the Red Bull Brand including Brand Marketing, Collegiate Marketing, Sports Marketing, Music and Culture Marketing, Lifestyle Event Development, Consumer Insights, Product Development, Merchandise and Apparel, Retail Promotions, Strategic Partnerships, Media, and Advertising. In addition he oversaw the cultivation of an artist and athlete roster that includes hundreds of the world’s most exceptional human beings in more than 120 areas of sport and culture. Notable names include Jared Goff, Kris Bryant, Anthony Davis, Blake Griffin, Lindsey Vonn, Mikaela Shiffrin, Hillary Knight, Rickie Fowler, Lexi Thompson, Rebecca Rusch, Travis Pastrana, Robbie Madison, Ian Walsh, Miles Chamley-Watson, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, Sal Masakela, and Crazy Legs. During his tenure he created a clear and compelling roadmap for the future of the Red Bull Business and Brand, while still launching several successful new products and company wide initiatives, and outpacing category growth in the beverage sector. Based on his strategic roadmap and Northstar initiatives Red Bull moved from the #4 to the number #2 selling beverage world wide, trailing only Coca-Cola.
At eBay Brian had four areas of impact: 1. Global Brand Strategy Identify the strategic pivots needed to create new growth in existing products and emerging markets. Develop the brand positioning used to guide the development of new products and services. Drive the evolution of eBay’s consumer brands, corporate brand, and talent brand. Integrate new brands into eBay''s brand ecosystem. 2. Customer Experience Design Ensure the development of "on brand" redesigns of core web sites, mobile experiences, services, and in-store innovations. Develop better ways for people to shop by collaborating closely with the Chief Product Officer, Business, and Product teams to re-shape eBay's end-to-end product experience. 3. Marketing and Communications Oversee development of global marketing campaigns and the expansion of eBay's network of worldwide agency partners. Work with regional CMOs, Marketing, and Communications teams to re-shape eBay's image and to drive understanding and adoption of the brand's new innovations. Steer the development of regional marketing campaigns and experiential marketing events. Change eBay's reputation among consumers, partners, analysts, and investors. 4. Brand Management and Design Oversee development of key initiatives to make eBay Inc. more brand centric with increasing focus on design thinking. Drive key brand building functions including adoption of global brand positioning, brand architecture, and universal design principles. Develop global guidelines and training.
