As Vice President of Platform Services at Mimecast, I lead a global software and infrastructure organization responsible for delivering the foundational platforms that power the entire Mimecast product ecosystem. My organization provides core technical capabilities across six major domains, enabling scale, security, and innovation for all Mimecast customers. 1. Data Platform Lead Mimecast’s enterprise data infrastructure supporting large‑scale ingestion, storage, and analytics. Operate high‑throughput pipelines processing tens of millions of events daily and manage data lifecycle, retention, deletion, and compliance across global regions. 2. AI Platform & CyberGraph Product Oversee the CyberGraph security analytics product and the enterprise AI Platform. CyberGraph delivers large‑scale threat detection using a high‑performance Social Graph that models entity relationships for rules‑based and AI‑driven analysis. The AI Platform provides scalable, compliant infrastructure for model development, training, and deployment across all Mimecast products. 3. Core Platform (Identity, Account, Backend Services) Accountable for essential customer‑facing and internal platform capabilities, including account management, journaling, domain configuration, and reseller operations. Lead identity services such as directory synchronization (Active Directory, Azure AD, Google), user/group management APIs, authentication services, and lifecycle management. Oversee database services, account provisioning, and core backend APIs supporting all Mimecast applications. 4. Cloud Platform Lead global cloud operations and infrastructure engineering across AWS and private data centers. Responsible for global network infrastructure, multi‑region operations, performance testing, reliability engineering, and capacity planning. 5. Search & Storage Platform Oversee large‑scale search, archiving, and storage systems supporting Mimecast’s core data, retention, and compliance workloads.
Senior Director of Platform Engineering for Sophos Cloud. The Platform division consists of both our (Big) Data Analytics Solution and Core Platform IAM and API Services. Responsible for deliverables and management of globally distributed teams providing next generation security management and services.
Director of Software Development for Data Platform. Sophos Data Platform is a global organization that provides a Big Data and analytics solution in AWS for the Sophos product suite. The platform ingests TBs of data from millions of devices across the Sophos ecosystem including Endpoints and Firewalls. ETL is supplemented with applied analysis, rules engine inference and machine learning to enable automated threat detection and response for customers.
Senior Manager of Core Platform Development. Focus on stability, improvements, and functional development to our AWS based Central Cloud Management Product. Projects included redesign and implementation of Authentication and Authorization systems and introduction of critical path micro services.
• Managed development team responsible for producing Policy Charging Rules Function(PCRF) software for large telecom customers (Verizon, Vodafone, China Mobile). Experience with resource allocation, recruiting, career development. • Technical project lead for container based application performing orchestration of microservices in the cloud. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, java, Spring Cloud, Vagrant/Virtualbox, CI/CD pipeline and release management responsibilities • Project lead of NFV (Network Functions Virtualization) support for our product. Implementing a VNF Manager to deploy our product as VM(s) in OpenStack using RESTful api and HEAT interfaces. Experience with NFV, VNF, VNFD, OpenStack VIM, HEAT, VMWare • Contributed as part of management and architecture team responsible for next generation of core product offerings. This was a ground up redesign based on cloud and micro services architecture. This effort established an entirely new set of technologies and tools. The team determined best practices and standards for development as well as the release and CI/CD chain. It was also responsible for design and selection of technology stack based on prototypes. • Responsible for continuous process improvement. Contributed as part of a management team to migrate development practices from waterfall based SDLC to Agile Rapid process. • Above and Beyond award recipient for contributions to Policy Program.
• Principal developer on PCRF product, a large scale high performance enterprise application. The application consisted of a policy rules engine for processing Diameter traffic. Experience with high concurrency java application and performance requirements. • Lead principal developer for notification service generating SMS, emails, and HTTP outbound messages. Experience with SMPP, SMTP, HTTP protocols and RESTful web services. • Lead principal developer for Sy and LDAP data source interfaces to OCS and Directory Servers. Implemented functionality for policy driven asynchronous subscriber lookups. • Lead principal developer for Analytics interface. Implemented new TLV based protocol for streaming transaction data outbound. Worked with 3rd party vendors to build client tools. • Developer for configuration management UI.
