Leading 2 teams implementing a global attendance, leave and payment system. The system allows employees to request time off through an internal portal, automatically route approvals to managers, track accruals and balances (vacation, sick time, parental leave, maternity leave, jury duty, military leave etc.), and ensure compliance with both company policies and local regulations in each market where Amazon operates. The overall target was a population of 2 million+ people, covering Amazon's full time and part time staff globally. Our applications are built to scale to large populations and high-volume traffic. The populations operates on an hourly basis, and we need to track historic data as well as planned data for the future. We use native AWS tech stacks for the back end including SNS, SQS, Kinesis, Lambda & Dynamo DB with Python as our programming language. Our UI is developed in React.
