Waste Management Account Specialist for industry
Developed, implemented, and maintain the Safety Program, Safety Training Program, Safety Procedures, and Protocol. Coordinate and supervise the Internal Safety Team. Schedule all Safety Audits. Research and record audit results; create and implement counter measures. Maintain OSHA logs, manage worker's comp, and complete mandated reporting with Federal, State, and local agencies. Manage Lock-out/Tag-out program, confined space and hazard communication system. Developed and maintain facility safety systems for all chemical related issues pertaining to their purchase, use, and storage. Manage and improved the internal and external communication for emergency response. As Incident Commander I serve as the leader and facilitator of the Emergency Response Team (24/7 responsibility). Continually identify and implement needed technology to address industrial hygiene requirements. Current safety management system has resulted in an incident rate reduction to 50% of industry average and one of the best rates within Honda North America. Serve as the plant representative on the North American Safety Forum (Corporate group to ensure standardized safety initiatives are implemented). As the Environmental Management Representative, developed and implemented the Environmental Management System that was certified ISO 14000 Compliant. Implemented a waste reduction, reuse, and recycle program, achieving zero landfill. Implemented successful energy reduction program Implemented successful water use reduction program. Serve as the plant representative on the North American Green Factory Forum (Corporate group to ensure continuous improvement of environmental performance).
Worked on regulatory issues for my clients and delivered public courses on OSHA/ EPA/ DOT regulatory requirements. Created curriculum development, PowerPoint presentations, class manuals and working exercises involving pertinent material for delivering environmental health and safety courses (i.e. HAZWOPER, Ergonomics, RCRA, DOT, OSHA 10hr in public seminars as well as for company clients. Primary focus involved the Hazardous waste field, secondary focus in general industry safety topics. Provided consultant work for clients on various compliance issues including but not limited to site evaluations to determine safety and/or health problems. Developing the requirements needed to improve workplace safety.
Organized, developed and presented occupational and environmental courses nationwide. Covering various courses, i.e. HAZWOPER, Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Personal Protective Equipment, Confined Space Entry, Lock out/Tag out, Toxicology, Air/Water/Soil Monitoring, Safe Work Practices and many other areas required to comply with OSHA and DOT Federal Regulations. Performed client site evaluations/sales calls to provide our clients with the appropriate training to create a safe work environment for their employees. Served as company fit tester, for respiratory protection, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods.
