I am an Associate in Clifford Chance Singapore’s Funds & Investment Management team. Seated in the private funds group, my experience include advising on regulatory concerns, formation, and maintenance of investment funds, both onshore and offshore. I also had previous experience in public takeovers, asset finance, as well as capital market work on the SGX-ST. I graduated from Singapore Management University's Yong Pung How School of Law. Key areas of interest include globalisation and the economy, as well as commercial law with a focus on funds and capital market work. Funds & Investment Management
Asset & Wealth Management/Investment Funds - Experienced in matters including relodgements, setting up of new sub-funds and fund classes, and regulatory compliance for funds constituted in Singapore, Ireland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein, among others. - Assisting as counsel to one of Singapore’s largest asset managers, managing regulatory compliance and constitution of new fund classes and sub-funds for over 30 funds and umbrella funds. - Assisting global banks, investment management companies and private equity companies with managing regulatory and compliance requirement for their Singapore portfolio and funds offered in Singapore.
Capital Markets/M&A, Asset Finance - Assisted in a secondary listing of a Malaysian company valued at around MYR1.45 billion via an introduction on the Singapore Exchange (“SGX”), conducting due diligence, drafting documents and assisting in interviews. - Assisted in a SGX Mainboard-listed group valued around S$660 million by a Shanghai-listed conglomerate, and a reverse takeover by a financial services group of a SGX Catalist-listed group. - Assisted in drafting legal opinions, deeds of release, share charge documents and pledge agreements for a variety of local and international asset financing transactions, including the sale of US$200 million worth of secured notes. • Assisted in advising public companies on making disclosures for material transactions involving entering a joint venture in Vietnam, employment related matters as well as executing share option schemes and share buy-backs. - Assisted in Corporate Secretarial work, including due diligence, stamp duty filing and regulatory advising, among others.
Summer legal intern in the Marine department. - Assisted in conducting M&A due diligence as well as drafting share subscription agreements. Also assisted in research into the target company’s assets and liabilities. - Assisted in legal research in various areas of maritime and admiralty law, including research regarding applications of the Montreal Conventions, Hague-Visby Rules, and sanctions. - Drafted client responses for issues relating to commercial litigation, and enforcement of a contract to exit a start-up.
Management Consulting Intern in Cybersecurity practice. - Conducted research for a client in the automotive services industry seeking to market their cybersecurity services in the D(ACH) market, and created a marketing and growth strategy for the company and its offerings. - Conducted research on India’s network security market, designing a client update report summarising the market developments and forecasts for the Indian network security market, combining qualitative and quantitative research into meaningful data. - Conducted research on the regulatory and compliance frameworks cybersecurity in Europe, and developing a differentiated approach for marketing different cybersecurity services, and ensuring compliance with regulations. - Conducted product development research, focussing on models, frameworks and KPIs used by decision-makers when making purchase decisions for cybersecurity products, thus enabling ROI tracking for end-users and vendors.
