I am a third-year medical student at the John A. Burns School of Medicine and am a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a B.A. in Biology and a minor in Public Health. I have skills in patient care, communication, volunteer work, research, leadership, Basic Life Support (BLS), first aid, teaching, and mentorship.

- Research conducted under direction of principal investigator (PI) Dr. Scott Lozanoff in the Department of Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Physiology at the John A. Burns School of Medicine. Research topics include 3D virtual reality (VR) imaging of anatomical systems as a method of instruction, embryology, and a conjoined twin case study February 2020: - Poster made by Nicole A. Nakamatsu on "Hypothesis-Driven Gross Anatomy Learning for Brain and Cranial Cavity Dissection using MRI Imaging of Cadavers and Delivered Utilizing XR-Web Technology" in which I was a co-author was presented at the 2020 Health Professions Education Conference hosted at the John A. Burns School of Medicine [1st place for Best Student Presentation] July 2020: - Presented conjoined twin case study poster at the 2020 Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE Symposium) October 2020: - Presented conjoined twin case study poster at the virtual "2020 AACA/HAPS (American Association of Clinical Anatomists/Human Anatomy and Physiology Society) Fall Regional Meeting" hosted at the University of Massachusetts Medical School - Presented conjoined twins case study poster at the virtual "XI International Symposium On Clinical Anatomy" hosted in Varna, Bulgaria
- Promotes HYHP events and opportunities on various social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram - Creates electronic flyers for HYHP events on Canva - Assists with writing and designing the HYHP monthly newsletter - Collaborates with the HYHP Leadership Team to discuss upcoming events and pertinent matters

Enrollment/Recruitment - Graded/reviewed applications and interviewed applicants - Ensured health clearance items and documents were compliant with hospital policies - Presented at school campuses and events to recruit individuals Training Operations - Worked with Leadership & Management Team to plan and facilitate training days - Assisted in teaching patient care skills and administering written/ practical exams to trainees - Prepared Leaders to present program and hospital-related topics and provided feedback - Trained and onboarded new Leaders to their role - Assisted in onboarding new Program Managers/Coordinators about site operations Other Responsibilities: - Used CORE ELMS platform to oversee Health Scholars shifting compliance, hours tracking, specific requests, etc. - Communicated closely with hospital patient care and admin staff - Maintained the Adventist Health Castle COPE Health Scholar website - Oversaw the Leadership Team and ensured they fulfilled their responsibilities - Maintained frequent communication with incoming interns to address concerns and important reminders COVID-19 Pandemic - Online training of new cohort in patient care skills, communication, program logistics - Proctor online exam and in-person practical exam (social distancing guidelines followed) - Call hospitals and clinics to inquire if asymptomatic COVID-19 testing was available and what costs were so interns could have a list of places to get tested as a requirement to return to the patient care floor - Use trackers to ensure submission of required COVID-19 documents (negative COVID-19 test, signed COVID-19 consent form) and mandatory COVID-19 virtual training that allow interns to return to the patient care floor - Manage the transfer of interns from other COPE Health Scholar Program sites in other states to Adventist Health Castle in Hawaii as many Hawaii resident students studying in the mainland returned back to the island during the pandemic
