As a mechatronic system engineer at Demcon I have worked on several projects last years, from medical projects to high-tech projects. - In the medical field I have been a system architect for the development of a medical ventilator as seen in hospitals. We have carried out the development of the ventilator from customer requirements, up to the point of production in our facility of Demcon. I have worked in close cooperation with an international customer in this project, and togheter with a team of 5-10 people internally in Demcon. - In the high-tech field I have been working on a high-tech Scara robot development, which has been custom-made by Demcon, and where I have been responsible for the integration and control of the robot. Next to these projects, I am active in a control competence group (established in 2016), where we work on distributing control competence throughout Demcon, across our different sites. We work in close cooperation with universities in order to research control-related topics which are relevant for Demcon. Furthermore, we give internal control courses to Demcon employees on a yearly basis.
I received my M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering (cum laude) and PhD degree from the Eindhoven University of Technology, Eindhoven, The Netherlands in 2011 and 2015, respectively. I was a PhD candidate in the Dynamics and Control group of the department of Mechanical Engineering. The main focus of the research was on performance-optimization of hybrid controllers for linear motion systems, in cooperation with industrial partners such as ASML, FEI, Philips, Bosch, and Assembléon. Interests: motion control, non-linear / hybrid control, optimization
Teaching assistant for several courses in the field of dynamics and control (Dynamics, Motion Control, Mechanical Vibrations, Performance of Nonlinear Control Systems, Multi-body Dynamics) and Matlab. Coach for several projects performed by Bachelor and Master students.
