Assist in the management of a 12 bed Emergency Department. Monitor performance of 20+ employees (RNs, EMTs, HUCs). Provide coaching for employees. Assist with the management of the Trauma Services Department at Sparrow Ionia, currently seeking Level 4 State Verification. Perform data analysis and chart reviews for performance improvement. Provide education to staff based on data collected. Uses PDCA to help with process improvements. Improved scheduling for ED staff using Kronos. Round with Staff and patients on a monthly basis. Implemented staff huddles to keep staff informed of changes within the Emergency Department.
Provide care to ED patients with multiple health issues. Initiate Nursing Protcols for ED patients. PI for the ED, such as STEMI, Restraints, Sedation. Report monthly to ED manager with PI data and complete PDSAs on data that doesn't meet national standards. Implement process changes to help provide timely quality patient care. Trauma Performance Improvement RN: Assist with PI for Trauma Patients. Complete PI requirements based on the State of Michigan and American College of Surgeons. Create and review policies for the Trauma Service Line. Attend monthly Trauma Meetings. Report information to Trauma Program Manager and Medical Director. Provide Staff Education to improve overall care of the Trauma Patients in the Emergency Department and Inpatient Units. Act as resource nursing supervisor.
