About

I am an innovative learning and development professional with a broad portfolio within a global high tech environment. My designs start with the learner’s needs as a core, followed up with creative and innovative learning strategies, and a strong commitment to managing to both the timeline and budget. I believe that learning is only truly effective if it engages and truly provides value. I am a natural team builder who seeks to leverage the best in my teams and provide my best in return. I strongly believe that the results of a great team’s efforts are always more than the sum of its parts. Learning Architect – Customer Experience As a Learning Architect within the Customer Experience (Cx) organization my responsibility was to create and curate Learning Journeys by collaborating with SMEs and stakeholders to understand diverse roles and responsibilities. Related work included: • Conducting Gap Analysis: Performed thorough gap analysis on current roles to validate and confirm responsibilities, ensuring the development of targeted training programs. • Content Development: Led the front-end development of content for multiple skill sets and career paths, managing the process from initial discussions to production and publication. • Stakeholder Engagement: Engaged with stakeholders at various business levels, working closely with content teams, leadership, and SMEs to ensure project completion. • Instructional Design and Talent Management: Combined business insight, analysis, talent management, and advanced instructional design skills to create learning blueprints. These blueprints aimed to achieve business priorities, close skill gaps, and develop leaders at all levels. • Artificial Intelligence: Used generative AI to produce text such as scripts, learning objectives and e-learning text. I also used AI to support design thinking sessions by producing alternate outcomes and to compile data generated in divergence and convergence exercises.

I am responsible for the design and development of unique learning experiences for Cisco's leaders and their teams. The overall scope of my work is to provide learning experiences that make leaders better leaders, and teams better teams through a strengths based approach. This is executed through a learner centered approach with multiple learning modalities. Enterprise level projects of note: • Created a system dynamic simulation to identify the best aspiring leaders. This project was comprised of vendor management, the simulation, video, data analysis, branding, and data security. • Created a branching simulation in support of StandOut that included professional actors, full video, coaching and job aides. • Created extensive ILT and vILT training in support of Cisco’s strengths based approach. This approach followed The Marcus Buckingham Company’s StandOut platform. This project was comprised of co-located and remote training featuring video, interactive exercises, and self-reflection opportunities. • I am content owner for the Cisco Advanced Manager Series, a globally facilitated learning experience for mid-level managers ready to take the next step. • I led global teams in the design, development, and delivery of Global Leadership Forums. These worldwide events featured keynote speakers, workshops, and films that spawned discussion around leadership topics. • I led the innovative LeaderBox project which utilized a “come to you” approach to learning. This featured direct learning items, symbolic learning items, and an augmented reality front end to supporting videos.

    • Talent Development Program Manager
      Feb 2010 - Nov 2014 · 4 yrs 10 mos

As a Talent Development Program Manager I designed and delivered a range of learning solutions for a global audience of Sales, Services, and Rest of Business for Cisco. My responsibilities were end-to-end. I began the strategic planning process by analyzing neds and creating training proposals in response to training requests from our internal customers. Once proposals were approved, I recommended a build/buy/partner strategy as the situation dictated. I would then carry that forward into scoping deliverables, setting timelines and establishing costs. If I determined a build strategy I would then carry the project forward as an instructional designer, which included both design and development of the deliverable. For e-learning I would commonly develop the training in authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate and NexLearn SimWriter.
