Three years ago, I worked at the startup Rexplorer, wearing multiple hats at once. The work was exciting, but the structure was weak. My days were full, yet the most important tasks often remained unfinished. Even in the evening, my mind would not switch off. At some point I realised this was not a time management issue. It was a question of attention and self leadership. I started searching for solutions. I read over 100 books, tested different systems and applied them in real life. My focus became clearer and my results improved. The team noticed the change and started asking for my advice. Today, I work with Produktiivsusklubi. To scale across Europe we decided to sell the software that we used as the backend of our own solar Platform. I led full-cycle sales efforts with a team of 4 people in the Baltic states & Germany. ■ Built Partnerships with large enterprise customers, negotiated contracts ■ Constructed new Value Propositions based on the "Jobs-to-be-Done" methodology ■ Built out the Sales department with a Playbook of processes, outreach strategy, scripts I learned to lead myself & my team at a high stress level. I learned to: ■ Create order out of chaos ■ Control my attention ■ Stay FOCUSED on the common goal I realized that I want to help people learn these same Self-leadership skills. To control their attention so that they could achieve their goals and live a fulfilling life. From there I decided to step into the Facilitator & Coach role.
In Spring 2022 Rexplorer came out with a SaaS platform which enabled anyone to quickly analyze the roof of their home with 1 click. And then to request an offer from a verified service provider. It was a startup so we quickly needed someone from the team with a Solar Expertise who would: ■ Talk to incoming private customers, qualify them & deliver the lead to Partners ■ Build partnerships with Estonian Solar energy companies during a raging Solar Energy Boom. I jumped on board and Covered all major Solar Energy players in less that a year: ■ Prospected & outreached Solar companies, held contract negotiations, closed deals. ■ Consulted platform clients with choosing the best deal between offers from many of our service providers I learned that even though I like systems & optimizing workflow, I much more prefer to work with people than with machines. Nothing lights me up more than helping people. I learned to: ■ quickly connect with people, listen to their needs and help them solve a problem. ■ build partnerships and to align on common business goals. ■ to work in a very chaotic Startup environment with many projects and no structure. It was my job to build the structure for the team to enable focused work & drive productivity & growth. For that I built playbooks & CRM system from scratch in Notion. After covering Estonia we decided to scale across Europe. I took on the role of Head of Sales to run these efforts.
After graduating I was invited to join Rexplorer, a GreenTech startup with a clear mission: to democratize renewable energy and make solar easy. My job was to run a pilot project: To build a lightweight monitoring solution for solar parks which would enable easy overview of production & in case there is an error in the system. The problem was that conventional SCADA monitoring solutions were data-heavy & expensive. I built the system on MQTT. This enabled to collect a large amount of production data in an efficient way & to produce profitable insights from it later. We completed the pilot project with a working prototype in 6 months. This experience stretched my leadership & project management skills as there were many stakeholders from Sunly & Rexplorer & Helmes. I improved my deep work practice & systems thinking to build an effective workflow. The company decided to pivot towards a SaaS software platform so I transitioned into a Customer Success lead role.
After coming back from my Eurotrip and working at the surf hostel for 5 months I decided to follow my interest towards hospitality and start a vacation rental business with my father. My family already had 1 Airbnb for rent so we decided to scale it and make it into a family business. We got a couple more apartments and shortly after, friends, family & acquaintances started offering us to manage their properties for them. I was in charge of the marketing & digital part of the business: ■ Creating online profiles on booking sites, copywriting ■ Setting up a channel manager & pricing ■ Writing a house guide & rulebook ■ Templates for communication ■ Building a webpage In the early days, the work involved everything there is to do in a small rental business: ■ Carrying furniture & washing-machines ■ Organizing Cleaning ■ Interior design ■ Photography ■ Small repairs I learned to: ■ Manage my energy & attention in a chaotic environment ■ Build processes & organize workflow ■ Write compelling copy ■ Communicate clearly ■ Lead a team All of these skills have proven to be critical in all of my other endeavours.
