Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland
I am a board-certified rheumatologist and internal medicine specialist (FMH) at the University Hospital Zurich and a clinician-scientist at the University of Zurich. My work spans clinical rheumatology, translational research, and academic leadership, with a particular focus on autoimmune and connective tissue diseases, including Sjögren’s Disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and systemic lupus erythematosus. As Senior Physician in Rheumatology, I care for patients in both the outpatient clinic and inpatient ward setting. My clinical interests include inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases, Sjögren’s Disease, and musculoskeletal ultrasound. Alongside my clinical work, I lead an independent research group studying how cellular metabolism shapes immune cell function in health and disease. My research focuses on understanding the mechanisms that drive autoimmunity and lymphoma development, with the aim of identifying new therapeutic strategies for patients with autoimmune diseases. I am currently completing a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Systemic Health Management at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). I am particularly interested in leadership and the development of clinical and research programs within academic hospitals. I believe that advances in patient care arise from a close interaction between clinical medicine and research. My goal is to translate biological discoveries into meaningful benefits for patients while contributing to the future development of academic rheumatology in Switzerland.
