About

Note: I don't do hiring and I do not get involved with outsourcing/contracting. The strategically important interface between client, senior staff and engineering has long been a core competence of mine, relating the needs of each party and working with engineers to deliver the best solution for effective technology partnerships. In addition I have great experience of interfacing international working teams in parent companies which has its' own particular challenges. Knowing the right people, for the right task, at the right time and finding the right resources. I have worked with silicon vendors, manufacturing partners, design engineers and business development teams for commercialisation of technologies in fast growing business to deliver growth. I believe one of my greatest strengths going forward is my analytical skill which has been honed in the field and under the real-time pressures of broadcasting. Even with relatively short notice I am able to analyse a situation or technology to evaluate the options, strengths and weaknesses. I am able to formulate disaster recovery scenarios, recognise organisational weaknesses and build forward looking strategies. I have the ability to deliver results with a clear head even when time is short and my ability to problem solve with both lateral and tangential thinking is second to none. Creative solutions with simplicity often require tackling a problem from different angles. When I can I enjoy passing on my knowledge to others through public speaking/lecturing/seminars, which I find a rewarding experience and looking for innovation in unusual ways. Specialities: Operational trouble shooting, problem solving, systems specifications, service delivery, client liaison, customer expectation management, safety, management-engineer liaison, commercial engineering, training, delivery, presentation, international communication, government liaison.
