About

After many great years in the specialty chemical industry, I am pivoting to a new career in software development. For me, software and computers have always been a way to get work done. Whether it was plotting swim team race times in high school, calculating optical properties from spectra in graduate school, or mapping mining truck routes at a startup, I have written code because I needed certain results. Now that has changed. Why? Because it is clear that from product design to fulfillment, everything is becoming virtualized in code. I want to participate in that process and combine my previous and new careers in a meaningful way. In my chemical industry career, I held a variety of leadership roles in research and development. As a result, I am good at getting the most out of the organizations I lead while selling executive management on the value delivered by those organizations. Most recently, I was responsible for predictive analytics where we had considerable success modeling physical laboratory tests such that virtual tests are now used for product development. It is that analytics experience along with leadership skills that I want to combine with my new career in software development.
