About

“There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” ~ Colin Powell Leadership is “A process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal.” ~ Peter Northouse I am an educator and leadership coach who believes that leadership is both a mindset and a practice of one built on self-awareness, integrity, and continuous growth. As Assistant Teaching Professor and Program Coordinator for the Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership program at the University of Missouri - St. Louis, I combine over 25 years of management and leadership experience across multiple industries with a passion for developing future leaders. Since launching UMSL’s Organizational Leadership program in 2020, I have helped grow enrollment from zero to more than 75 students, developed five new leadership courses, and introduced Prior Learning Assessment opportunities for adult learners to earn college credits for experience. My teaching philosophy is student-centered, ethically rooted, and applied with a focus on helping students connect theory to real-world practice and thrive as thoughtful, effective, and inclusive leaders. I hold professional certifications in Quality Matters course design, Hogan Assessments, and Kansas Leadership Center (KLC) coaching, which shape my approach to designing accessible, high-quality online learning environments and mentoring students toward personal and professional success. My goal is simple: to empower individuals to lead with authenticity, build strong teams, and make a meaningful difference in their organizations and communities.
