I serve as the Director of Product, Cloud Solutions at Pason, where I lead the product strategy for all web-based software across both our drilling (Pason) and completions (IWS) businesses, including the Pason DataHub, Pason Live, IWS Live, mobile apps, and data APIs such as WITSML and IWS Connect. Overall accountability for the profitability and product life cycle of several Pason products, including its flagship Electronic Drilling Recorder (EDR) and DataHub. The combined revenue of these product lines exceeds $100 million per year. The EDR records and transmits critical drilling data from the well site to the office, and is the platform for hosting other products and services at the rig. The DataHub provides a web portal for historical and live access to streaming data from the rigs, enabling mission critical decision making in real-time. With a small team, we would continuously develop cutting edge, first in the industry tools tailored to reservoir and production engineers. Managing this product was a multi-step process that involved: - Determining market demands and understanding problems faced by the petroleum industry - Coming up with new ideas for tools to satisfy the needs of reservoir and production engineers - Taking those ideas and turning them into practical and powerful pieces of software - Managing a team of engineers and developers - Prioritizing and scheduling project plans - Writing engineering and design specifications - Designing test plans Prior to VirtuWell, responsibilities included: - Engineering development of Piper, Fekete's gathering system analysis software - Project management and engineering development of Risk and Sensitivity, a tool used to perform statistical analysis on reservoir models to obtain likely and possible production forecasts and reserves.
