My primary role over the years has been as a cultural curator and critic who showcases creative industry trendsetters and their art. I built my career by founding a website called Durban is Yours which helped expose Durban artists and musicians to the rest of the country from 2011 - 2019. Now I host The Almost Perfect Podcast where I've chatted to the likes of Loyiso Gola, Moonchild Sanelly, Mbali Ntuli, and 160+ guests who have shared their failures so others can learn from them. I've contributed to numerous noteworthy publications such as Noisey, Hypebeast, OkayAfrica, Bubblegum Club, Afropunk, and the Red Bull website. These days I lend my pen to Letterhead as a regular freelance writer who has contributed to Mail & Guardian, Woolworths Taste, Shelflife, and the Discovery Vitality magazine. I also have extensive experience in the live events space. I was the founder and director of The Heat City Comedy Festival which started in 2017 but unfortunately didn't survive past COVID. I have worked behind the scenes of major festivals as a booker and promoter for various stages at Splashy Fen, Outland Festival, and Zakifo. I also booked and managed the comedy programme for the Point Waterfront Arts Festival in 2022. Currently I am the Event Co-ordinator for Winston Fest 2024. I'm also the co-founder of Not Quite Right Comedy, which we've built into Durban's most prolific comedy company and have even sold out The Bioscope in Joburg.
