I left SIU edwardsville in 1983 to go on the road with a Regional touring band called Streetcorner Symphony, I was with them for 13 years ,started the Bily Barnett Band {Blues science} employing some of st Louis finest, Baby Al Caldwell, Steve Strahorn,Larry Vandiver,Chad Larue,Barry Williams, Terry Jackson,Nicky Randolph, Phil Burton,Demerius Hicks, different versions playing regionally ,.After that I dicided to move to Branson Mo to Play with Shoji Tabuchi to make some money , I hated the circut and moved back to st louis and re-up,d the Billy Barnett Band . after struggling in the bar circut in the midwest I joined the Smash Band, and have been with them for 12 years. After 9 self produced CD,s Having two used on MTV,s "real world" and "lets make a band." produced by mtvs Brent kidwell In 2009 I was a guitar instructor for the Atlanta based school of rock with 38 special,s Doug Carlisi and Deric st Holms of Ted nugent.playing their hits "Hey Baby and" Hold on loosley". currently i still perform with my band and play a solo act via looper,fiddle. My future goals include having my own studio,starting a music school and recording 20 more albums,tour & watch my two kids grow up not struggling financially. Specialties: working with people, my heart goes out to the rejected.writing origional music ,performing on the guitar and violin and bass.Understanding equipment and how to work it.
I am a producer and music performer. I also teach and demo gear for folk's , I have 10 solo CD s and have done many studio projects for Landry amplifiers, Rout 66 classic guitars ,Phil Jones amps, and of course Gravity. From being a professional musician for the last 35 years I have a solid foundation in vintage and modern gear,and own or have access to allmost any equipment for the studio!
I have been teaching classical,jazz,blues & rock for 30 years I also enjoy getting people to play and watch the joy it gives them.(also a bit of frustration)
