Appuri is a VC-backed Big Data company that wants to change how companies use customer data to make decisions. Our first product, Appuri Backstop, makes it easy for companies to predict when customers are about to leave their service based on usage patterns. As Chief Product Officer, I led product design and was responsible for bringing the voice of customer into all functional areas. I also hired large parts of the technical team and participated in key corporate events, from fundraising to acquisition.
Project lead and key architect of the Windows Azure Store, a marketplace for premium cloud services. Effectively founded a startup at Microsoft by driving business planning, UX, and project from inception to completion, building partnerships across three teams and multiple disciplines and 18 partners. My team delivered a beautiful user experience, public API and simple billing to millions of developers in record time-to-market. Also, the primary owner and leader of the Windows Azure signup, purchase and billing experience. Key driver in changing the user experience from an ancient, 8-page process to a smooth 3-step experience which has exceeded all success metrics. This role requires expertise in e-commerce, marketplaces and billing. Additionally, shipped a simple yet powerful code deployment solution for the Microsoft WebMatrix IDE, which won excellent reviews. Also greatly simplified the administration experience for Microsoft Web Deploy, a website deployment tool, and delivered customer-centric documentation which received excellent feedback.
