After a period of adjustment, I began to adapt to Singapore's culture and pace. During this period, I successfully helped the company complete some projects and successfully collected all payments from the homeowners.
After gaining work experience, I ventured into entrepreneurship alongside with Mr Chong, a product designer come back from Taiwan. Together, we co-founded 9force - a niche e-commerce business specializing in military apparel and accessories for the Malaysian Army. 9force: Pioneering Online Military Gear Retail in Malaysia Key Highlights: First-Mover Advantage: Among the early adopters of online retail for army gear in Malaysia, shifting from traditional brick-and-mortar models. While running 9force, I did not give up interior design projects. At the same time, I continued to work with different contractors. During this time, I was involved in more store design projects in shopping malls & residential projects.
I believe that most of the designer has a dream to open their own coffee/tea house, so after accumulating experience and funds for a period of time, my partner and I took another step and began to expand our business into the catering industry. As one of the founder of the restaurant, me & my partner led a team of 8 people from planning, conception and design to coordinating the team to execute the plan until the successful opening. The restaurant operated for three years before closing due to the pandemic. During the three years of hard work, my partner and I faced many challenges, from funding to management. I learned a lot of experience. Although we ultimately failed, we also unexpectedly gained a lot of recognition during this period.
