Hello! My name is Bianca and I am an internationally minded young professional and first-year student of International Relations and Global Affairs at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, with a strong foundation in diplomacy, public policy, and civic leadership built well before my university years. Of Romanian origin, I have cultivated a distinctly international profile through Erasmus exchanges in Sweden and Belgium, participation in a plenary session at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, and direct engagement with senior diplomatic figures including a former NATO Deputy Secretary General, a UN Ambassador, and the Ambassador of France to Romania. A nationally ranked debater, elected student representative, and Vice President of Interact Pontus Euxinus by Rotary International, I have consistently demonstrated the ability to lead, organise, and represent others in high-stakes environments, coordinating teams, managing large-scale events, and amplifying voices that might otherwise go unheard. I currently contribute to Sports Diplomacy, a Romanian public policy institute, as a Sports for Development Officer, researching the intersection of sport, inclusion, education, and community development at a national level. Driven by a genuine commitment to diplomacy, democratic values, and international cooperation, I bring a rare combination of academic rigour, real-world leadership experience, and cross-cultural intelligence to everything I pursue.
Sports Diplomacy is a Romanian public policy institute monitoring legislation and policies across sport, sports tourism, the environment, and outdoor activities advocating for fair, sustainable, and people-centred approaches to sport at every level. As a Sports for Development Officer, I am part of the founding team working to build the research and policy foundation for Romanian sports diplomacy a field that sits at the intersection of public policy, international relations, and social development. My work spans a broad range of focus areas, including sports legislation and public policy analysis, sports tourism and outdoor infrastructure, youth sport, and the use of sport as a strategic instrument for inclusion, education, and community development. In this role, I contribute to mapping the Romanian sports landscape, analysing decision-making processes, and developing research frameworks that bring greater visibility and accountability to underrepresented areas of the sector. This experience has deepened my understanding of how sport functions not merely as competition, but as a vehicle for social cohesion, local economic development, and international cooperation directly complementing my academic background in international relations and my broader commitment to evidence-based, people-centred policy.
Conference on Cultural Diplomacy Partnership with National Opera, Bucharest (Dec 2025) Participated in a high-level conference at the intersection of culture and foreign policy, engaging with senior diplomats, public officials, and cultural leaders. Took part in a Q&A session with Mircea Geoană (President of the Aspen Institute Romania, former Deputy Secretary General of NATO), Liviu Sebastian Jicman (President of the Romanian Cultural Institute), and Simona Miculescu (Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Romania to the UN). Deepened understanding of cultural diplomacy as a strategic tool in international relations and strengthened professional communication in formal diplomatic settings.
Academic Dialogue with H.E. Nicolas Warnery, Ambassador of France to Romania Faculty of Political Science | October 2025 Participated in a closed academic dialogue hosted by the Faculty of Political Science, bringing together students and H.E. Nicolas Warnery, Ambassador of France to Romania, for a structured exchange on pressing issues at the intersection of diplomacy, media, and international cooperation. The discussion centred on media literacy as a geopolitical concern exploring how the integrity of public information shapes bilateral trust, democratic resilience, and the broader framework of France and Romania relations within the European context. Engaging directly with an active senior diplomat provided rare insight into how foreign policy is navigated at the ambassadorial level, and how cultural and informational tools are increasingly central to modern statecraft. This experience reinforced my understanding of the strategic dimensions of bilateral diplomacy and deepened my ability to engage critically with complex policy questions in a formal academic setting. It also strengthened my capacity to contribute meaningfully to high-level conversations on international affairs, listening analytically, formulating precise questions, and drawing connections between theory and lived diplomatic practice.
EUROSCOLA – "Protecting Democracy and Fundamental Rights in Europe" (European Parliament, Strasbourg – Oct 2025) Selected to represent Romania in the EU-funded EUROSCOLA programme at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Role-played as a Euro-parliamentarian in a full plenary session, debating and approving amendments from a risk-oriented perspective. Engaged in a Q&A with Robert Zile (EP Vice President) and Antonio Caiola (Head of Unit, Legal Service), deepening understanding of EU institutional processes and European values.
Appointed as an official European Parliament Ambassador School (EPAS) representative at Colegiul Național "Mihai Eminescu," a distinction awarded to schools demonstrating a strong commitment to European values and civic education. In this role, I designed and delivered public presentations to student audiences on the principles of EU citizenship, the mechanics of democratic participation, and the tangible impact of civic engagement with a particular focus on the importance of youth voter turnout and political awareness at the European level. Rather than limiting this work to my own school community, I extended outreach to institutions with fewer resources and less exposure to European affairs, bringing EU education directly to students who would otherwise have limited access to it. This experience sharpened my ability to communicate complex political and institutional concepts in an accessible, engaging, and age-appropriate way bridging the gap between EU policy and everyday civic life. It also deepened my personal investment in democratic resilience and the role that informed, active citizens play in shaping the future of Europe. Working across different school environments further developed my adaptability, public presence, and commitment to inclusive civic education.
Vice President – Interact Pontus Euxinus by Rotary International (Constanța, RO | 2022–Present) Rose from active member to Vice President within Interact Pontus Euxinus, coordinating teams of 200+ teenagers in charitable initiatives across education, culture, sports, arts, and wildlife. Lead organizer of SummerCamp, the district's flagship event hosting 500+ participants from across District 2241. Gained hands-on experience in sponsorship outreach, contract management, delegation, and large-scale event coordination.
Organizing Charity events for teenagers in my hometown. - Enhanced public speaking skills. - Gained responsibility while working with important contracts. - Coordinated more than 200 teenagers at once. - Showed implication and managed to evolve in the NGO's ranking as now the vice president by spending hundreds of hours working, coordinating teams, seeking sponsors, and taking part in delegations. - Organizing the biggest charitable event called "SummerCamp", hosting over 500 teenagers from all over the 2241 Interact District while still donating money to 5 domains including education, culture, wildlife, sports, and arts.
