▪ Help Application team to migrate on-prem SQL Server Instances to Azure SQL Managed Instance (MI) ▪ Responsible to automate frequent customer requests such as database refresh, password reset, and other DML/DDL activities ▪ Supervising Microsoft onsite consultants and help them to deploy changes by enforcing BNY policy and provide guidance to improve BNY Mellon SQL Server environment. ▪ Responsible for proactively supporting and maintaining uptime service level agreements for over 400 database instances throughout BNY Mellon infrastructures including participating in voluntary 24x7 support. ▪ Perform troubleshooting, resolution and root cause analysis for the database and application specific requests/incidents. ▪ Collaborate with developers to design databases features or tune SQL code to increase query response time. ▪ Perform troubleshooting and optimization for performance issues, including performance tuning of SQL as well as indexes and DB level configuration changes. ▪ Configure and manage 4 nodes Availability Groups and Failover cluster for over 50 production applications. ▪ Provide production support as a Primary DBA for over 70 applications including vendor based and in house build applications. ▪ Work with Engineering team to setup and test new lab environments as new SQL server release. ▪ Acknowledge challenges/problems team is facing and come up with solid solution by performing research on my own or involving different teams as needed. ▪ Help application to migrate Database from SQL Server 2008/2012 to 2016 and 2016 to 2019 ▪ Work with Application owners to plan and test the DR tests. ▪ Design backup strategies to match application’s RPO
▪ Backed up databases using Full, Differential and Transactional log backup methods ▪ Setup and configure Log shipping for high-availability and disaster-recovery solution ▪ Install and Configure SQL Server Instance ▪ Configure SQL Server for Always On availability. ▪ Provide Production Support for SQL Server Databases and Oracle Database Instance by supporting on call rotation. ▪ Restore (point in time) Database from database backups and file backups ▪ Write PowerShell scripts for bulk information gathering ▪ Document new issues as it appears and different ways to troubleshoot it ▪ Use PowerShell and T-SQL to automate problems occurs frequently ▪ Installed and applied Service Packs (SP) and Cumulative updates (CU) on SQL Server
