Building new venture in smart energy efficient solutions based on external seed funding
Leading global team focusing on disruptive new growth opportunities including smart lighting, smart buildings (remote management, desk space management, indoor navigation, LBS), smart cities, finance (lighting as a service, EMC) and energy services. The team operates as a corporate venturing unit directly reporting into the CEO. The team mainly consists of experienced commercial professionals with a strategy consultancy or start-up background and uses open innovation, partnerships and corporate development to rapidly take new propositions to market. Responsible for the lighting control business within Feilo-Sylvania, reporting directly into the CEO. Building a new business unit from scratch, including: identifying new market opportunities, creating winning market propositions, product and service development, closing partnerships, go-to-market strategy, driving initial sales and rolling out new propositions across our global sales-force. I use a strong open innovation policy and we are therefore collaborating with some of the key innovators within the lighting control space including startups and established technology firms. Key innovations innovation themes that we are currently working on include: - Developing location based, big data and IoT (internet of things) related services on top of the data coming from lighting control networks (especially within the retail segment) - Creating self-configuring lighting control solutions, requiring no commissioning nor new wires - Low power lighting infrastructure solutions - Smart homes Delivered a pipeline of €10M+ of disruptive new revenue within 12 months. Leading client engagements to build new ventures and businesses for blue chip companies outside their business as usual (from ideation to first revenue). I am responsible for our technology practice and some of my clients include BAE AI, Philips, E.ON and Airbus. I have built businesses in a number of growth domains including smart homes, workforce mobility, sensory branding, M2M, smart cities, smart buildings, augmented reality and connected lighting.
I supported both Philips and non Philips companies with developing new innovations from ideation up to mass production. I combined ideation and proposition development with both project management and product owner roles in an agile development environment . I excelled in bringing insights together from strategy, end-user research and technology to formulate new innovative propositions and in working together with senior executive to bring innovations to the next gate of a large corporate innovation framework.
