Behavior Support Specialist
Working closely within a classroom environment with a second grader special needs child to focus, control behavior and maximize information retention. All aspects of behavioral management - ABA, including incentives for hard work, behavior records, teaching the child how to control their own behavior and liaising with the parents, teachers, occupational therapist and child psychologist. Engaged child in therapeutical dog assisted sessions to work on social-emotional skills. Kept log of student’s learning and developmental program, recorded assessments and provided feedback Assisted all child’s teachers in environmental modifications for increased success.
Facilitated a collaboration between two grade levels. Coordinated sensory room and barefoot sensory path proposal including school visits, design and budget. Followed the process through completion, including educational training for users
Improved cognitive functions, social, emotional, and sensory motor skills, individually and in small groups. Engaged in habilitation and rehabilitation of physically disabled kids (Subaqual therapy, Occupational therapy, making rehabilitation plan).
