Bettina Walter is a German producer based in Spain with more than fifteen years’ experience producing documentaries for the international market through BWP, her Barcelona-based production company. Her credits as producer or co-producer include award winning internationally distributed documentary features such as "Let's talk about Sex: A Century of Sex Education", “The Forum”, “Theatre of War”, “Falciani’s Tax Bomb”, “Google and the Worldbrain”, “My Life with Carlos”, “Mañana al Mar”, “Devil’s Miner” and “Light Bulb Conspiracy”; films co-produced with leading international broadcasters such as BBC, PBS, ZDF/ARTE, ARD (SWR, WDR), SFR & RTS, SVT, DR, Movistar and TVE/TVC. Her critically-acclaimed work has screened at festivals including Sundance, SXSW, HotDocs, Berlinale and DocFest Sheffield, and has received prestigious nominations and awards including FIPRESCI - PBS Independent Lens, HotDocs, Prix Europa, Grimme, Grierson, German Television, Fénix, Movistar and Berlinale Awards. Bettina has built a strong network of experienced screenwriters, filmmakers, directors, producers, and distributors all over the world, and has amassed extensive experience in international co-productions through her collaborations with leading European production companies in Germany and Spain. Driven by a passion for Latin American cinema, Bettina along with Documentary Campus and the Goethe Institute founded CAMPUS LATINO, a long-term documentary training programme for talented filmmakers from Latin America, Italy, Portugal and Spain. Bettina is strongly committed to the future of documentary and teaching the next generations. For the past decade, Bettina has worked as a tutor and mentor on project development, and international financing and co-production, at various European institutions (UB University of Barcelona, UAB Universidad Autónoma of Barcelona, UPF Universidad de Pompeu Fabra, ECIB and Filmakademie of Baden-Württemberg). Bettina has a degree in Anthropology, Literature, Linguistics, and Latin American Politics & Economics from the University of Hamburg, as well as post-grad studies undertaken at the Universities of Málaga and Buenos Aires.
Campus Latino is the first long term training programme in Latin America that widens opportunities and international exposure for young and emerging documentary film makers from Latin America, Spain, Italy and Portugal. By providing young filmmakers with the tools to professionally market films and first hand contact with decision makers and and fostering international coproductions, Campus Latino helps to develop strong and impactful films and give them visibility worldwide. Campus Latino is an initiative of Documentary Campus, Goethe-Institut and BWP, with the support of Ibermedia and in collaboration with Brazilian Content & Bravi from Brazil, Conecta & ChileDocs from Chile and International Film Festivals as DOCSMX in Mexico, IFF Panama and CRFIC from Costa Rica.

Cruz, a Rarámuri indigenous man, and his community were dispossessed of their lands by drug traffickers for refusing to change from corn to poppy crops. Now they live displaced in the city, threatened with death, desperately seeking justice to be able to return to their place of origin.
