About

I’m a writer, researcher, and future art lawyer with a background that bridges the arts, global cultural engagement, and strategic leadership. My work focuses on the arts, museums, and cultural heritage—especially where these worlds intersect with preservation, policy, and education. Through my newsletter, The Art Brief, I explore legal and ethical issues in the art world, as well as art history and education, and international cultural protection. I also write for a museum blog and advise on select private projects, helping them tell more compelling, inclusive, and globally informed stories. My business background and experience in strategic communication shape my approach to translating complex cultural topics into accessible narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. Before pivoting to art, I spent 20 years as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, flying cargo and conducting humanitarian missions across the world. I've traveled to all seven continents and over 90 countries, and I've lived in four countries. This aviation and military experience gave me a first-hand understanding of cultural heritage protection in the face of natural disasters, conflict, and diplomatic operations. It also shaped my global awareness of how travelers, visitors, and cultural workers experience, access, and interact with art and history. Now, as I begin law school with a focus on international and art law, I bring together two decades of leadership, deep field experience, and a lifelong commitment to arts and culture. I continue to write, post, and speak on the value of preserving and expanding access to cultural knowledge—on the ground and in institutions around the world.
