I am embarking on a new adventure! I've recently joined Marks Travel and Tourism - Dream Vacations as a Travel Specialist. My passion for travel has taken me through over 2 decades of exploring, including all 50 states and 48 (and counting) countries and 5 continents. My favorites are exploring the Caribbean, by land or sea, as well as cruising anywhere the wind blows. My next adventures hopefully will take me to Antarctica and an African safari one day! I have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, and I am a Certified Travel Associate and have a certificate in Travel and Tourism from Penn Foster. I am also Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) and a Certified Veterinary Business Leader (CVBL). In my previous field, I have more than 20 years of experience in the veterinary industry, working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician, a Regional Operations Director, and a Regional Director for a Veterinary Corporate Consolidator. I have a passion for advancing the industry, supporting the practice managers and medical directors, and enhancing the skills and well-being of the veterinary teams. I have proven skills in inventory management, leadership, business strategy, emergency medicine, and healthcare.
Working with Practice Managers within the MVP network to further their development and their company. Assist with operations questions, policy creation, networking, inventory management, financial review, and team development.
As Hospital Administrator, I am in charge of maintaining operational activities in two high-energy, multi-faceted veterinary practices in Washington DC. We employee 5 full time doctors and twenty eight employees. In 2014, District Veterinary Hospital's Brookland office was the fastest accredited AAHA practice in the country in under 4 months, and in 2015-2016 was voted the second leading hospital in the metropolitan area by clients and the community. In 2017 we were happy to be voted #1! One year ago, we expanded to a second 4,000+ square foot location in Washington, DC, giving us the 2nd and 3rd largest hospitals in our city! This hospital, in the Eastern Market neighborhood, beat our own record of becoming AAHA accredited in just 8 weeks!
As Lead Technician at Operation PETS the Spay/Neuter Clinic of Western NY I managed the flow of surgery for up to 60 surgical patients per day with 1-2 doctors and supervising up to 3 technicians and 2 assistants at any given time.
