Bert worked as a safety assement compound leader at Merck, Schering Plough and Organon for 5 years. In this role, he gained broad experience in the non-clinical development of compounds for various indications, including small molecules, biologics and vaccines. While in the industry and based experience, he participated in multiple scientific and developmental interactions with regulatory bodies.
Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry Bert was senior non-clinical assessor for the Medicines Evaluation Board in The Netherlands for 8 years. In this role, he was involved in the non-clinical assessment of European Registration Dossiers, Clinical Trial Applications and Scientific Advice procedures. He was also involved in issuing multiple non-clinical guidelines for the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
