I was offered the opportunity to do a one-year assignment in order to further develop my people management skills. As Lab Manger I was leading a team of 8 engineers and technicians including responsibility for budget planning and execution. Achievements: o Improved employee engagement and team spirit. Clarified responsibilities and accountabilities. o Obtained ISO17025 accreditation for the Sales Equipment lab. o Implemented new customer test request database. o Oversaw the recipe development and equipment quality assessment linked to the market introduction of the coffee brand Chaqua in Belgium. o Steering committee member of the European Quality Center.

Achievements: o Project engineer: - Designed and implemented automated lines for mattress production including transport, positioning, unstacking, gluing, compressing, stacking... - Feasibility study for chocolate factory to implement a system for heat transfer from cooling installations to melting equipment. o Measurement engineer. Measurement of problem-parts for automotive industry with high tech equipment. Training and guiding customers on part inspection and measurement techniques. o Lab Engineer in the Packaging and Sales Equipment Lab, Coca-Cola Europe (as of Aug 2004).
