In my work experience I worked many years as a Medical administrator, which included some clinical experience. I am qualified in advanced life support, as well as a Nursery nurse/Maternity nurse. My experiences have also included working within charities in various capacities, including London Air Ambulance and Great Ormond Street. I am now a passionate "Sepsis Advocate". I advocate to raise awareness for the signs and symptoms and relay this on many social media platforms and liase with patients, medics and organisations. I am in frequent contact with those looking for help, advice, and support. I work on site and off site depending on individual circumstances and needs. I offer this all through personal experience, work experience, study/research and qualification. My main aim is to help patients and their families advocate to receive medical treatment immediately.. at least in the first hour/hours at most. This would provide better outcomes. Through personal experience and loss of both my Mother and Husband from Sepsis I have seen first hand how delays in treatment cost lives. I have experienced being dismissed by medics despite signs, symptoms and test results. My husband was a Dr himself and he was still refused treatment for a post operative infection until he developed Osteomyelitis and Sepsis.. I have since had my daughter develop Urosepsis and got told in A&E she did not have an infection..luckily I can read test results.. the SHO did not disagree with me and immediately started her on Gentimicin IV, my daughter had all the signs of Urosepsis..the rash, a fever, and most other associated symptoms. I could of easily left the hospital had I not been aware of the symptoms! It is incredibly important that medical staff start listening to patients and their advocates.. it saves lives ❤️
I advocate for Sepsis awareness and provide support for those in need of help and advice.. I work remotely or on-site. I post daily on social media platforms highlighting the signs and symptoms of Sepsis.
