Besides distinguishing myself academically in Medical School, I have begun my career in academia by joining reputable research institutions including the UCL Cancer Institute and Institute of Ophthalmology. I have developed practical wet lab skills, academic writing and presenting skills, which will serve as a foundation for my career. My primary focus revolves around cancer genetics and inherited retinal diseases, and I am interested in the application of Artificial Intelligence to these fields. I am acquiring additional skills in Computer Science to better participate in this cutting-edge field through online courses in Python, Machine Learning and Deep Learning. I hope to advance my knowledge of this discipline with an intercalated degree in Mathematics, Computers and Medicine.
