After having completed my articles at Werksmans Attorneys ,Johannesburg South Africa, and having remained on as a professional assistant, I left Werksmans after approx. 6 years together with another professional assistant and established a practice known as Frank-Tanner. I practised in co-partnership as Frank-Tanner for 20 years until our entire practice was taken over by a much larger firm at that time, Jowell Glyn & Marais (as it then was) in October 2002. I remained on as a director for 2 years and then opted to go back on my own. I currently practice as a consultant /partner (after 49 years in the legal profession) under the name and style of Tanners & Associates. Our Law firm is based in Sandown, Sandton, RSA. We operate a boutique law firm and provide a full range of legal services to a wide range of corporate and individual clients specializing primarily in general Commercial Litigation (which includes insolvency work), General commercial and Matrimonial work, Labour Law and Labour Litigation in various Forums, drafting of wills and Administration of Deceased Estates, Conveyancing and Notarial work which includes property transfers, Ante -Nuptial Contracts, Apostilles and various other Notarial contracts/ notarial bonds/and general authentication of all types of documents. We are admitted as Notaries/Conveyancers. We have also acted as trustee/s in regard to various trusts and have experience in providing general Trust advice and in de-registering trusts. We also prepare Powers of Attorney and launch applications for curatorship. I was appointed as a Commissioner for Small Claims in 1990 and I had an appointment as an acting Judge in the Labour Court (Johannesburg) in 2015.Since then I have had the honour of being invited to preside as an acting Judge on various occasions.
