-Developed a Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP) software solution for dispatch optimization, leveraging Python to improve operational efficiency. -Built machine learning models for demand and price forecasting in the electricity market, utilizing Python libraries like XGBoost, LGBM, and TensorFlow. -Designed and implemented end-to-end data pipelines using Airflow for data engineering, managed MSSQL and MySQL databases, and built visualization and reporting solutions with Metabase.
This was a rotational position lasting five months, which enabled me to gain a deeper understanding of commercial operations in energy markets. The main objective of this position was to optimize the dispatch of a 870 MW CCGT power plant, as well as a hydropower plant (HEPP), in the day-ahead, intraday, balancing, and ancillary services markets.
