Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland
I am passionate about working with people and organisations to help build a better future for marginalised communities. With many years experience as a Parliamentary Assistant and working closely with politics, I have gained invaluable insight and knowledge into how things work in Ireland. Previously, I have written legislation, amendments and my Motion on Homelessness passed Dáil Éireann in February 2019. My background in charitable organisations working with homelessness, ex-offenders, women who have experienced domestic violence has given me a drive to work in policy where changes may be made for the better. To assist in creating a more equal society with emphasis on issues such as housing, homelessness and equality. I care about creating a better Ireland.
Delighted to have been successful in my application for the role of Policy & Research Manager. I'm really enjoying my time in MHR and am looking forward to stepping up to manager level.
Delighted to take on the Policy and Advocacy Coordinator role with Mental Health Reform!
(when updating my new role I inadvertently deleted my stint as Parliamentary Assistant - thoroughly enjoyed working with Deputy Thomas Pringle!)
I was delighted to be commissioned by Unite the Union Ireland to undertake a Sector Overview. In a 5 week period, I undertook research and compiled a report for the union.
For over 5years,until the end of the 32nd Dáil, I was working with an Independent TD to assist him with parliamentary duties. Such duties included speech writing, policy development, legislation, representation for that TD at briefings and meetings. I also compiled, submitted and managed written and oral Parliamentary Questions, Topical Issue Debates and managed all of his communications and social media, including press statements. I supported his work on constituency and national issues and kept abreast of current and political affairs.
