Global VP, internal and external cybersecurity trust, culture and communications
I lead Okta's Customer Trust function. This is the global consolidation of all customer-facing aspects of the Security team, including the Customer Assurance, Operations and Audit teams, our Field CSOs (Americas, EMEA and APJ) and our Communications and Outreach function.
Okta is the identity company that stands for trust, we are the leading independent provider of identity for the enterprise. Our vision is to enable any organisation to use any technology, and promise to always protect the identities of our customers’ workforce and customers. I am the Chief Security Officer at Okta for the EMEA region. This new executive role demonstrates Okta's commitment to businesses in EMEA as well as deepening security capability globally (and response across time zones). I picked up the APAC region in addition in April 2021, and relocated from London to Sydney.
In addition to my role as CSO EMEA I have established and lead Symantec's global Security Assurance team, which helps our customers, lines of business and suppliers maintain and improve the high security standards we jointly expect. - the Customer Security Assurance team operates as both a sales enablement function supporting RFPs and new business, and a customer compliance function supporting existing customer needs and facilitating audits or risk assessments - the Product Security Assurance team operates as an internal governance, advisory and audit function ensuring Symantec lines of business are meeting our internal standards, as well as those required by our customers and their regional regulators. This includes internal audit as well as supporting external product certifications such as ISO, SOC2 and FedRAMP - the Supplier Security Assurance team provides supply chain governance for Symantec and our lines of business, ensuring our suppliers meet our needs (as well as our customers) from a cyber security point of view. The combination of these three teams creates a strong, centralized and global Security Assurance function with end-to-end visibility and an ability to influence security posture from our suppliers all the way through to our customers.
The Global Security Office (GSO) delivers cyber security and physical security services to Symantec (SYMC). We protect the organization's people, customers and assets from harm. I offer a regional point of presence as the Chief Security Officer for EMEA, liaising with senior internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the GSO and Symantec more broadly.
