    Through an in-deep analysis of the customer business model, expressed and unexpressed needs, my role is to define which train architecture could bring the highest value added to Bombardier's customer. Knowledge of the very many parameters influencing train operations and constrains is key for the success. Examples of success: - Understanding the issues faced by French region Normandie in their connection to Paris. Work together with local mobility association and upcoming region president to convince that high capacity 200km/h train is the best solution for Intercity needs. An order for 40 IC trains was received followed by orders for 51 trains from 2 other regions. - Creation of an operator business model for a South African customer supported the demonstration that Bombardier's solution offered the best value for money through single fleet operation. - Limitation of the French rail network drives the need for commuter application to always higher capacity trains. Through the offer of an articulated double-deck solution (patent still valid) Bombardier was selected for one of the largest frame contracts for SNCF. - Switzerland is working with a long-term strategy for transport and railway solutions. Working with the Swiss Polytechnic schools of the Swiss operation model supported SBB choice for “technology rather than civil work” which opened the door to a major order to Bombardier for 59 Intercity trains.

    The new M2 Metro Line in Lausanne started commercial service on October 27th 2008. I was in charge of managing the Rolling Stock and Platform Screen Door contracts for Metro Lausanne Ouchy including all aspects of project management i.e. contractual, technical and planning. All trains were delievered and approved by October 2007.
