๐จโ๐ป I have 2.5 years of experience solving complex data problems and building and managing cloud infrastructure using AWS and Azure. ๐ My journey into tech began on a self-driven path, where I taught myself Python, SQL, and the fundamentals of Cloud and Linux. Shortly after this, I discovered AiCore, and enrolled on the bootcamp as a student of Data Engineering, graduating from the course in a record time of 10 weeks. ๐ Soon after graduating, I joined the data support team at AiCore, further solidifying my knowledge by teaching hundreds of aspiring data engineers everything they would need to know to launch their careers in tech, in the form of live debugging sessions and code reviews. I added DevOps Engineering and Cloud Engineering to my repertoire, becoming proficient in Docker, K8s, Terraform, Databricks, Azure DevOps, and many more. Also during this time I developed and trained the support team from 2 to 11 engineers, alongside significant process management needed to scale the business rapidly to handle 4x the number of learners. My time in this role was split between teaching Data/DevOps/Cloud Engineering, and also hands on experience management of the AWS and Azure cloud environments used to maintain ~250 students on their Data/ DevOps/Cloud projects using tools such as EC2/S3/MWAA/MSK/Kinesis/CloudFormation/Azure DevOps/Monitor/AKS. ๐ง In February 2024 I moved over to the Content team, where I have been deeply researching technical subjects to then plan and design suites of digital notebooks to correspond with new industry-grade projects. One such topic I developed was that of networking in the context of DevOps and Cloud Engineering, making me an expert in the OSI/TCP-IP Models, Protocols, IPs and CIDRs, and VPC management. Also during my time in this role I was responsible for building and maintaining an ETL pipeline for LMI data collection and analytics. ๐ซ Prior to my career in tech I have built up a decade of experience opening and operating high-volume cocktail bars and restaurants all over the UK. This experience has afforded me a range of soft skills that formed me into the person I am today, including both excellent collaborative teamwork skills and the ability to work alone with autonomy. ๐ค I'm always open to meeting new people, shoot me a DM if you wanna connect or hear more about me! Skills: AWS, Azure, Python, SQL, Pandas, NumPy, Airflow, Terraform, CloudFormation, Spark, Docker, Kubernetes
Recently leveraged GPT o1 to design and develop from scratch a full Data Engineering curriculum and content, reducing manual time and labour cost down from a full team working many months down to just myself. Developed a data collection pipeline to collect ~50,000 rows of complex data from 15 different API endpoints, then cleaned, processed and visualised the data using tables and treemaps. Developed an AWS Glue job to parse ~10GB of extremely nested JSON data and categorise into columns over multiple tables. Completed extensive research to become an expert in complex technical topics quickly, then planned and designed content for students to learn from with a corresponding industry-grade project. Built and reviewed collections of digital notebooks, consisting of ~20,000 words each in total, delivered in around 2-3 months.
Technical Support and Guidance: Specialized in assisting students with core technologies like AWS, Kafka, Spark, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform, effectively aiding in setup, debugging, and usage, which significantly enhanced their proficiency and problem-solving capabilities. Project Diversity and Execution: Demonstrated versatility by contributing to multiple projects including the development of a sophisticated Pinterest-like data pipeline on AWS and setting up Azure DevOps pipelines, showcasing a deep understanding of varied services and complex project setups. Rapid Support Ticket Response: Achieved an average response time of 2 minutes for support tickets, resolving issues related to programming, software installation, and cloud services, thereby enhancing user satisfaction and course efficiency. Collaborative Teamwork: Actively engaged in team discussions, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to user experience enhancement, reflecting strong collaborative and communication skills. Code Quality Assurance: Ensured the high quality of user-submitted code, suitable for employer review, by conducting detailed code reviews across different specializations, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and commitment to coding standards.
Self-studying the fundamentals of software engineering, Python and SQL.
