About

You know what the world of work needs now more than ever? Another self-appointed leadership expert! There are a lot of chancers and frauds out there who claim to know lots about Leadership. I however actually do, and it is my mission to share this wisdom with you. You're welcome! I have written a book ("Leaders always put the toilet seat down: the only guide you need to becoming a brilliant leader”). It book contains everything I have learned about leadership, and I am sharing it with you in fortnightly excerpts on Substack. My newsletters give you the guidance and wisdom you need to become the best leader you can be. We will navigate critical topics such as how to become an Inclusive Leader (“Buddy can you spare a letter? Decoding LGBTQIA+”), and how to manage the transition from peer to leader (“Navigating the power imbalance: you can’t squeeze her bum now you’re her boss”). I will tackle less familiar subjects such as the use of laughter at work (“The leader as comedian: no matter how funny you are, humour is not your friend”) as we work our way through all aspects of leadership from hiring to firing. You will get access to my unique IP, including frameworks such as Moncrief’s Model of Virtual Leadership© to support you in managing the modern world of hybrid work. I will help you build your brand as a Brilliant Leader by giving you free access to the Talent Yogi Random Leadership Metaphor Generator©. Eventually all this will be available to buy in my book. The publishers’ bidding war is as ferocious as you would expect and it’s only a matter of time before it arrives in your local bookshop . In the meantime, subscribe to my Substack (https://talentyogi.substack.com), read, like, share - and learn.

Talent Yogi is a newsletter sharing thoughts and ideas about people and work. Why did we create it? Well, here’s the thing: in our day jobs my co-founder and I spend our lives working with organisations to help them solve people problems. It’s interesting, stimulating, and often fun. We get paid, which is nice. But it’s also corporate; we both work for companies that aren’t our own, and they tend to have rules about what you can and can’t say in case it damages their brand. Which is fair enough, but in the course of our work we keep finding we have loads of thoughts and ideas that we’d love to share but can’t quite get past our employers. Turns out you can’t really write an article called, say, “Elon Musk and the problem with bringing your whole self to work” if Tesla is one of your company’s main clients. So we figured we’d create Talent Yogi, a forum for us to share all the other stuff we think and say about work and people - the more provocative bits, the funny stuff, the ideas our employers didn’t want to turn into white papers or thought leadership. That's what we did. So click here if you'd like to subscribe to our free fortnighly newsletter. https://talentyogi.substack.com/subscribe
