    • Supporting 4 capital projects at Pfizer by facilitating communication between various departments and vendors to guide projects along desired timelines. • Overseeing process equipment specification, installation, testing, qualification, and implementation by coordinating the required logistics and documentation for FATs, SATs, IOQs, ILQs, and engineering runs for 11 unit operations. • Owning and managing change control records from initiation to closure for equipment installation and facility modification projects. • Reducing complex projects into digestible strategies by analyzing and effectively presenting information to upper management. • Leading meetings between cross functional teams and vendors to accomplish project goals, while meeting the expectations of all site departments. • Secured company a new project contract after receiving praise from Pfizer project manager for high performance.

  • Chemical Reaction Engineer (Senior Capstone Project) at University of Colorado Boulder

    • Converged an Aspen HYSYS simulation and completed detailed equipment sizing for a full-sized vinyl chloride processing plant including 5 distillation columns, 15 heat exchangers, 3 pumps, 2 phase separators, and 3 reactors to achieve 99% purity at the required yield. • Assumed leadership and responsibility for the most challenging process component in designing 3 reactors for the vinyl chloride synthesis and furnished a final product of exceptional quality. • Applied chemical engineering theories and principles, including careful consideration for the effects of mass transfer, heat transfer, and reaction kinetics, to derive a system of 5, 9, and 11 ordinary differential equations for the 3 reactors, respectively, and used MATLAB to solve them simultaneously and iterate on optimal dimensions. • Reduced plant operating costs with heat integration to limit utility consumption using the Energy Analyzer tool. • Created Microsoft Excel calculation spreadsheet including thermodynamic properties for all reactive species, resulting in fast, efficient energy balances for all reactions involved in the process. • Offered consultation to other groups and helped troubleshoot their code to reach a viable solution. • Praised as 1 of only 4 out of 31 project teams to achieve a perfect score on a “truly outstanding” reactor design.

  • Undergraduate Student Researcher at University of Colorado Boulder
    May 2018 - Aug 2018 · 4 mos

Undergraduate Research Assistant at Shirts Research Group Computational Biology Lab • Conducted molecular dynamics simulations using Gromacs. • Built 3 systems of sugars to glean atomistic level insight into their behavior which was used to predict conformational stability in biological settings • Validated accuracy of models by exporting simulation results to Python and comparing to literature values of selected physical properties • Presented summer research progress to a conference of over 50 graduate students and professors.
